Jimmy McGriff is well know around the world as the "World's Greatest Jazz/Blues Organist. Jimmy was born in Germantown, PA on April 3, 1936 and started his music career in the late 50's. At first his music career did not please him, so he left the music business to become a motor cycle cop in his hometown of Philadelphia. He did this for a while until he ran into one of his musical friends, Richard Groove Holmes, who talked him into coming back to his music career. He started back playing his music and started recording. He recorded "I Got A Woman" in the early 60's on Sue Records and it bacame one of McGriff's greatest hits and sold many copies. At that time, McGriff's music career took a turn for the best.
Jimmy McGriff has traveled around the world more times than you can count on both hands leaving joy everywhere he went. To see people around the world of all ages and culture enjoying McGriff's music is something that leaves chills running down your spine.
